Blue sky ki jaya!
August 5th, 2006The storm is finally over. phew! It was even worse than I thought - many living entities suffered greatly - some lost their homes, some lost their bodies - all swept away by roaring rivers (that used to be streams). People had to be rescued from the rooftops of their houses. Cars bobbed around in the water.
Today skies were clear - as if nothing ever happened. I took some time out reading and chanting in the garden. It is the second Ekadasi that I observed by taking only a little water and it is powerful. It frees up so much time and really clears the mind - sobers one up. In the afternoon I visited the temple and was somehow talked into teaching the yoga class. It turned out as a yogalates class as my yoga knowledge is still rather limited and I had to spice it up with some Pilates. Everyone was quite happy (especially two guests who had injuries and always wanted to try Pilates). I was happy to use my material skills in a devotional way and to have the opportunity to do some service. I ended the class with a guided meditation inspired by HH Bhakti Tirtha Swami. The focus of the meditation was “not the body”.
